Holiday Bridal Shower Decorations

We wanted to create a gorgeous holiday bridal shower, full of romance and candlelight but we didn't want to spend a lot of cash. The key? Balance, balance, balance.

First, take stock of what you already have. We had nice white "hotel style" linens, a great 19th century dining room with a fireplace, wine glasses, two white ceramic buffet dishes, and grandma's silverware.

Then, see what you can borrow from friends. We borrowed silverplated serving dishes, candlesticks, glass votive cups, white dinner plates, and the two glass cake plates.

Finally, buy what you need. We splurged a little on the favor boxes, but they were so fabulous in the silver and white, that we couldn't resist. We also bought taper and votive candles, and some red roses that were on sale at the supermarket.
