Making Lavender Bath Oil
This sweet, herbaceous blend makes a beautiful gift for your bridesmaids. Thank them for all their support by giving feminine little bottles of lavender bath oils decorated with organza ribbons in your wedding colors. This recipe makes one six-ounce bottle of bath oil.
Lavender Bath Oil
Materials
- 6 oz. carrier oil, such as sweet almond oil, or mineral oil
- 2 oz. bottle of lavender essential oil with dropper
- 6 oz. glass bottle with glass stopper or cork
- A few sprigs of dried lavender
- Candle wax, for sealing the top
Directions
Fill glass bottle with your carrier oil. Leave about 1" of space at the top of the bottle.
Add approximately 45-60 drops lavender essential oil to your carrier oil.
Add two or three sprigs of dried lavender by pressing the stems gently down into the thick oil.
Light a candle and let the wax melt around the wick. Holding the glass top or cork over the sink or a plate, drip the hot candle wax around the stopper of your glass bottle. As soon as the surface is covered, plug the bottle with the "sealed" top. Do this quickly so the wax doesn't have a chance to harden before to plug the bottle.
